SRM - NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON TECHNOLOGY FOR THE SOCIETY- NCTS 2023

 

NCTS '23, a National Conference on Technology for the Society was organized on 18th of October 2023 by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Vadapalani campus.

The conference began with an inauguration function with Dr. Dhananjay Kumar, Professor, Department of IT, Anna University – MIT Campus,  Dr. Sri Vallabha Deevi, Principal Data Scientist at Tiger Analytics and Dr. Anand Gurupatham, General Manager, Power Train, CAE, Department Head at Renault Nissan, Technology & Business center being the Guests of the day. The first copy of the "Souvenir and Book of Abstracts" of the Conference was released by the Dean (FET) Dr.C.V.Jayakumar and recieved by the dignitaries.

The inaugural speech was delivered by Dr. Dhananjay Kumar.  In his address, he spoke about the evolution of technology and internet and its effect on the community. He spoke about the importance of students having to take up real world problems and try to solve them such as that the community derives benefits out of it.

Dr. Anand Gurupatham delivered the keynote address where he mentioned about the need for creativity and innovation have come a long way in the development of technologies. He also mentioned that Design thinking for sustainability is the need of the hour and is the very reason for the success of some important technologies like Electric vehicles.

Following this Dr. Sri Vallabha Deevi, in his speech spoke about cutting edge technologies like generative AI, Transformers, Chat GPT and the like and how sustainable goals are the very reason for the existence of these technologies.

Following the inaugural ceremony, paper presentation in parallel sessions that covered a wide range of topics, Computer Science along with Sustainable Development goals was conducted. The presentations were thought-provoking and sparked lively debates among the participants.

 The conference was a huge success, bringing together scholars, researchers, and experts from various fields around the world to share their knowledge, experience, and ideas.
