· CMC – REBOTIC PYLORUS – PRESERVING WHIPPLE PROCEDURE The Department of Paediatric Surgery at Christian Medical College (cmc), Vellore has performed a Robotic Pylorus – Preserving Whipple Procedure in a child under the age of 10 years. This procedure represents an important development in the field of paediatric robotic surgery. This child was diagnosed with a rare cancer of the bile ducts. Following preoperative chemotherapy, the entire tumor was removed while preserving the pylorus (part of the stomach), utilizing a robotic platform that provided 3D vision and the ability for precise dissection with delicate reconstruction.
